Thank you to all who have joined us on the Praying God’s Word for Your Husband challenge. (Go here to start at the beginning.) I hope it becomes more than just a 5-day challenge for you and that praying for your husband with Scripture will be implemented into your daily routine.
For each of you that have left a comment on Day 1 with the giveaway, please know that I am standing in agreement with you and am praying for each request you mentioned. I am excited to hear how God moves in the life of you and your husband.
Today, we are praying for our husbands’ relationship with God. For all of us, a right relationship with God is the most important relationship that exists. And when that relationship is right, it trickles down into every facet of life. Let’s pray for our husbands in their relationship with the Creator and Savior.
Day Three: (from page 116 and 117)
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you.” James 4:7-8
Help my husband keep a conscious awareness of you throughout the day. Grant him wisdom as he studies your Word, and let him rely fully on it. Let his heart beat in rhythm with yours. Keep him mindful of your promises and faithful to act on them. Help him to guard his thoughts so they will be honoring to you, edifying to others, and healthy for him. Encourage him with your approval. Honor his obedience as he humbles himself before you and submits himself to you. Keep him strong in his faith, grow his love for you, increase his desire to be close to you, and, in doing so, quench the fiery darts of the evil one.
“My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.” John 17:5
Father, I lift up my husband to you and ask that you keep him close, protecting him physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. While he lives in this world, he faces so many trials and temptations that would beat him down were it not for your faithful and abiding love. Help him to be aware of your love. Let him enjoy your love, experience your presence, participate in your peace, and glory in your grace. Reassure him that you are with him, you go before him, you surround him, and you have his back in every situation.
Amen! Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow when we’ll be talking about your husband’s relationship with you. After all, it is Valentine’s Day!
