Happy Valentine’s Day!  What do you have planned for today?  This morning, Dan and I will be exchanging gifts (If you want to know what I made for him, check Facebook later) and then tonight, we’ll be enjoying a special dinner at home.  I am so thankful for my husband and the gift of God he is to me.

For our 5 Day Challenge with Praying God’s Word for Your Husband, we have looked at praying when he is overwhelmed, for work issues, for his relationship with God, and naturally, being Valentine’s Day, we are praying for his relationship with you.  (Go Here to start on Day 1)

A Testimony:  I have to share with you that my husband originally didn’t know I was starting this book last month.  But after he did, he clearly stated that he had felt my prayers.  There was one day that he came home from work, unusually preoccupied with the events of the day and not his chipper-self.  And it was then that I realized that I hadn’t prayed for him that day!  A noticeable difference.  Ah, the importance of covering our men in prayer!

Day 4:  (from pages 162 and 163)

“Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?”  Amos 3:3

Lord, guide and guard our wills so our steps in our marriage journey may be in tandem.  Open our eyes and hearts to one another when challenges and obstacles present detours along the road we strive to follow together.  When we falter or fall along the way, let us offer a comforting hand to each other.  Help us at all times to discern the direction you would have us take.

“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.  See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.”  Hebrews 12:14-15

Sanctify our relationship with your holy presence, that we might be for each other a blessed oasis in a dry and desert land.  Help us to resolve disagreements and hurts gently, with love, patience, and abiding respect, so that neither bitterness nor resentment will every take root in our hearts.  Let the divine light of your love so shine through our marriage that we present a holy example to others and lead them to your truth.
