When I was a wedding planner, I loved finding little unique touches to add to my clients’ weddings. The kind of things that excited the bride, made the guests smile and the memories last even longer. Today, I want to share with you a beautiful idea from my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding last fall. (Incidentally, if you missed reading about my brother’s crazy entrance, be sure to check out How To Make an Entrance For Your Wedding.)
My sister-in-law’s mother, Teri, is a fabulous wedding cake baker! She made the cake for her daughter’s wedding even though she lives across the country. The detail was simply incredible. The cake was beautiful and her sugar flowers looked amazing. Her flowers are hand-crafted and very labor intensive.
Teri started baking cakes by making them for friends at work in 1991. And fourteen years ago, she started making what is called “cold porcelain” flowers. For my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding, Teri made these cold porcelain flower corsages for the mothers and sisters-in-law. Each was unique (my corsage and my mom’s are pictured). The neat thing about these corsages is that they last and make beautiful keepsakes from a wedding.
Aren’t they beautiful?
If you are interested in cold porcelain corsages for a wedding or special event (she also does napkin rings), you can contact Teri at ppollo52 AT gmail DOT com. Cord porcelain flowers can be shipped across the country.
I am interested to take cold porcelain corsages, what about the cost is that affordable?
I am not sure about the cost since ours were family “gifts.” Teri’s email is at the bottom of the post. Feel free to email and inquire.
