A couple weeks ago in the post about our day of ice cream shops, I mentioned the Christian singer-song writer, Chip Richter.  Chip has fun, upbeat music geared toward kids and families.  Truthfully, his music is a little addictive.

I can’t tell you how many times we’ve listened to his Lost in Lakeside cd (#4 is my favorite . . . and well, #1 and 11 too!  Yes, I know the numbers to the songs without looking.).  It is the kind of music that puts a smile on your face and a skip in your step.  I have had the opportunity to hear Chip in concert several times and we always leave having thoroughly enjoyed the concert.

Chip is preparing for a new online web series called Once Upon A Porch and I wanted to share about it with you.  They are trying to spread the word, create excitement and support among moms, dads, grandmas grandpas and others.

From Chip’s website:

Once Upon A Porch is a Web Series of episodes (webisodes) designed to entertain, inspire and encourage children 3 to 7 years old. My goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where children will find inspiration, imagination and creativity along with their parents/teachers. Once Upon A Porch will strive to offer safe, high quality entertainment for families as well as a creative, educational resource for parents and teachers.”

The setting will be Chip’s front porch and each 14 minute episode will include original music, a thought for the day (theme woven through the show such as handling change, dealing with fear, following dreams, etc.), a visit from Joey & Zoey, the neighbor kids (puppets) from next door and more.    Go here to read more about the idea, concept and phases of this project.

You can also show support by heading over to Once Upon a Porch’s Facebook page and clicking Like.  Help them get the word out about and watch for more updates about the project.  And judging from Chip’s great way with kids in his music and concerts, I’m sure this series will be a hit for kids and their parents!
