Today, I am looking back to my Sweet Girl’s 1st birthday.  Being the Disney lover that I am, I used a Minnie Mouse theme, although without Minnie’s face…simply the silhouette for the decorations and cake.

The cake above is 3 tiers of 8, 10 and 12″ rounds.  I love my Wilton Round Cake Pans!  They give nice tall layers even after being leveled.  I always make a lot of cake because we have a large family and any leftovers go in the freezer.

The Minnie head is cake baked in my smallest metal bowl!  (To see another bowl cake, check out the Ladybug Birthday.)  I cut slits in the inverted cake for the ears and using toothpicks, secured hard chocolate chip cookies to the cake dome.  Then, I covered the entire thing in chocolate.  It was yummy!
