Have you surprised your kids with anything lately?
A few months ago, a fellow MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) Mom told me that they had planned a surprise family vacation to Walt Disney World the day after school was out. How fun! She couldn’t wait to see her kids’ reactions.
I don’t know what it is about surprising your kids with a trip to Disney World, but those commercials on TV always make me cry! Someday, when my kids are older, we’ll drive off somewhere and end up at the airport. I’ll have some really creative way to tell them that they are boarding a plane to the happiest place on earth.
But you don’t need to go to Disney World to surprise your kids with something that they’ll enjoy. Just hop in your car and end up at Pizza Hut or Dairy Queen and I bet you’ll get a pretty good reaction. Surprise them with a friend of theirs hiding in the house for a sleepover. Do a Scavenger Hunt to a special treat. It need not be some expensive or outlandish thing. Just plan a surprise that will tickle their hearts.
