Even though school is out for the summer, learning is not on vacation.  Do you enjoy reading to your kids?  Reading is a great opportunity for cuddle time, connecting with your child and of course, learning.  We usually read to our kids every night before bed.  At bedtime, we focus on Bible stories. For daytime reading, anything goes.

For Mother’s Day, Sweet Boy came home from preschool with a precious handmade card and this bookmark on the inside.  Isn’t it adorable?  The teacher made one for each child in the entire class. (For instructions on making your own, visit my blogging friend, Heather over at Creative Family Moments.  She has a great tutorial.)

I tucked this bookmark into our copy of The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name.  We are reading through the New Testament stories at the moment and my son is glued to each one.  I love it!  (If you haven’t read this yet with your kids, it is a great storybook Bible connecting every story to Jesus.  It is beautiful!)

Don’t put reading aside for the summer.  Create a a fun bookmark and use it to keep your place in your current book.  Be intentional about giving your child a love for reading and learning.

Happy Reading!
