Hello friends! It is nice to be back with you. The last few weeks have been anything but slow and calm as I took a break from blogging. We gave the final push to get our house listed on the market. I am still wondering how you get anything else done when you are keeping your house nearly perfect.
I mean, you can keep your house clean all the time or … you can cook dinner or play with the kids. I’m just not convinced the super mom of the 50’s with apron and a perfectly clean house really exists. Ok, I’m positive she doesn’t.
My world looks more like a cluttered counter, dishes in the sink, toys on the floor and smiles on the kids’ faces (most of the time).
One thing I am sure about was the Lord’s timing in taking the few weeks off. With all the house required in the final few weeks and half of our household, including me, fighting strep throat, breaking from blogging was what was needed to keep my sanity.
Putting blogging aside went against all “grow your blog” theories, but it is never good to be so attached to something that you can’t lay it down. And when that feeling of overwhelming busyness is too much, it is time to re-examine your activities, commitments and short-term obligations. All of which I am still doing. 😉
Thanks for hanging with me! I hope you’ll enjoy all the fun celebrations I have to share with you. I’ve accumulated quite a little list over the last few weeks!
yay! I’m so glad you’re back! I need some summer fun ideas!
So so true! It’s good to take a break. Writing comes out of our living so sometimes we need to live a little to write:) Glad you are back:)
Good for you that you were wise enough to take a break!! We recently listed our house as well, and it is stressful!! Every time the realtor calls I run through the house with a laundry basket (or two) and fill it full of all the things laying around that don’t really have a place (things on the countertops, refrigerator, etc). I made a list of everything I need to do before the realtor shows the house. With a 2 and 4 year old and a baby on the way, keeping the house immaculate at all times is just not possible lol. I have been trying to clean more often (bathrooms, vacuum, dust, etc) but as far as picking up stuff that has to be a last minute thing. Good luck to you!
So glad that you’re moved and re-settled and back to the site. Sounds like this was a good decision for you and your family. God will handle the “building” of your blog. We’re all still with you after the break!
