What competes for your time? I’ll tell you that for me, it is my family, my house, my projects, my commitments and even, this blog. There are so many times I wish there were more “daylight” hours in a day. When night falls so early during the winter, so does my motivation.
I’m sure you, too, feel busy. Sometimes even trying to keep up with the laundry can be tricky! (I’m curious: am I the only one who seems to have nearly given up on folding & putting it away?) Little hands grab for our attention; there are floors to mop and mittens to find.
So much clamors for our focus and time. And there will be a day when those little hands no longer need us so I am NOT wishing this time away by any means. However, I want to know what do you clamor for? What do you make room for in your day?
In Psalm 63:1 we read, “O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”
In Christ, we have the greatest gift and in His Word, the greatest resource. Do you carve out time in your day for Him? I will be the first to admit that it can be difficult with so many distractions. But isn’t it all the more important then, to set your day going in the right direction?
Jesus, the very Son of God, was born in a stable because there was no room in the inn. Let’s not tell the One who gave so much for us, who redeemed us at great cost that there is no room in our inn today.
