Hi friends,
The post I had planned for today got pushed. My garage sale has kept me very occupied and it turns out I have strep again. The great news is that I met my sales goal on Day 1 of the garage sale. Back stairs in the future house, here we come!
So instead of sharing all about our kid-made, chocolate-dipped, candy-coated fruit arrangement (which I will be sharing . . . ), I thought I’d share a verse for today.
Dan and I teach the High School & Young Adult Sunday School Class at our church. I have to say that the group of teens and young adults we serve is quite amazing and I look forward to spending time with them every Sunday.
We are currently working through Crown’s Discovering God’s Way of Handling Money and our “theme” verse comes from 1 Chronicles 29:10.
“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.”
One of the hardest points to learn in actual living each day with regards to our finances and possessions, is that everything is the Lord’s. There is nothing that we have or own that does not ultimately belong to God. We are stewards. We are managers. We are not owners.
How easy it is to forget that we are in management, not ownership. This point has worked in our class to change our perspective of how we handle not only our finances, but also our skills, gifts and talents.
How about you? How would this concept of management vs. ownership change your perspective?
Have a blessed day!
Kristen
