Last year, my cousin Cherise asked a group of moms (12 of us who were all well acquainted with each other) if we’d be interested in exchanging Mother’s Day Compliments. What are Mother’s Day Compliments? Encouraging words about you as a mother and the job you’re doing.
Here’s how it worked: Every mom wrote one compliment for each of the other mothers. The compliment was to praise and encourage the mom and her mothering. We then emailed our list of compliments back to Cherise. She printed them out and put them in this cute little take out box. On Mother’s Day, she handed them out at church.
I have to say, it was an incredible blessing to hear positive words about your parenting when you’re knee deep in the un-ending training, disciplining and instructing of your children.
I wanted to share this with you now so that if you’re so inclined, you would have time to arrange this beautiful idea for a special group of moms. (Mother’s Day is May 13, 2012.)
What an encouragement you can be to other mothers!
P.S. Cherise has another fun idea in the works for this year too! Can’t wait!

What a great idea! Mothering can be overwhelming, and it is so important to encourage each other! Thanks for sharing this at Teach Me Tuesday!!
what a wonderful idea!
Oh, how I love this idea! It’s nice to hear things from your kiddos on Mother’s Day, but it is also nice to get positive feed back from good friends (cough) and adults. Thanks for sharing this on Hi-5 Friday!
What a lovely idea! Thanks for sharing at A Pinteresting Party!
