I love organization! I love sorting, organizing . . . anything involving a cleaner, more functional way of life. However, the practice is often harder than the theory. I decided to try a month-by-month home organizing plan . . . the thrill of monthly accomplishments without the daunting task of doing it all at once.
I am really looking forward to this month by month plan. Some of the tasks are ones I simply haven’t made time to do (like organize my recipes!) while others are just things that will ease the annual course of family life.
My 2012 Monthly Home Organization Plan
January – Files and Paperwork
February – Recipes
March – Dressers and Clothing Closets
April – Kids’ Outdoor Toys & Garage
May – Kitchen Cupboards & Drawers (also do a quick walk though/house purge to prepare for the garage sale)
June – Digital Organization
Week One: DVD’s & CD’s
Week Two: Photos on the computer
Week Three: Documents on the computer
Week Four: Email cleanup (and deletion!)
July – Paperwork, yes again
August – Office & Craft Supplies
September – Bathroom Cupboards & Closets
October – Laundry Room
November – Toys
December – Storage Spaces

Love this. I’m too busy ( aka lazy) to come up with my own schedule so I’m going to use yours!
This is a great idea! I might just have to make one!
This is an awesome idea. I just signed up for Cozi on my Nook Tablet, and I am going to do something similar on my monthly to-do list.
This is a great idea! I’m not quite there yet. I just chase the ball while it’s rolling! 🙂 But I may have to implement this. It’s so hard to stay organized!!!
Love this idea! It keeps the organizing from getting overwhelming. After all, we all can organize an area in a month, but maybe not in a week.
Your schedule would also help in staying on top of clutter.
