Join me to #SayMore to those you value and appreciate this holiday season. Disclosure: I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Hi Friends! I am so excited to be partnering with Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe for their #SayMore campaign and I think you’ll love the reason and motivation behind it all. Read on!
We all live busy lives, right? As much as technology has made life easier, it has also taken some of the pleasantries and thoughtfulness out of our daily interactions. It is easy to text or shoot a quick email, but the notification on our screens doesn’t always express that personal touch. One thing I am trying to be more deliberate about is saying thank you and looking for meaningful opportunities to express my gratitude.
Over the years, my kids have been blessed with many great teachers. Being a teacher is hard work. If you have ever helped in your child’s classroom and come home exhausted, you probably appreciate even more the individuals who pour themselves into this important profession. Classrooms filled with kids who are not their own, yet teachers invest in their students’ lives, training, teaching and loving them.
During the school year, my son spends half of his waking day at school. (My daughter is still in half-day kindergarten.) That is a huge chunk of time under the influence of the teacher. So when we have an exceptional teacher, we want to make sure we share how much he or she is valued.
My son is blessed to have had the same teacher for two years now. She made the jump from 1st to 2nd grade with the students this past year (and we were so excited). His teacher is someone who helps my son and her other students to grow in their academics, character, maturity, relationships and faith. She has had wonderfully creative ideas to help my son grow in areas of development. She has spent time, effort and love on him and I am so thankful.
So . . . with the help of Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe, we expressed our thanks for the amazing job she does.
Don’t miss the free printable below or the chance to win a box for yourself or someone you love!
You may not have heard of Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe yet. I had not before this. So, let me tell you just a bit about this sweet deliciousness.
The KISSES Deluxe Chocolates are twice the size of original Hershey’s KISSES. Yes, twice the size! They have a creamy chocolate center surrounding a whole roasted hazelnut. And finishing it off is smooth milk chocolate with delicate crisps . . . My mouth is watering!
I love the presentation because it makes a great gift. The KISSES, covered in gold wrapping, are perfectly placed in a sturdy, clear box so the recipient can immediately see the treat in store.
Do you want to join me in saying more this holiday season? Do you have a teacher you would like to thank?
Make it Personal! Along with the decadent chocolates, I included a handwritten note. Remember letters? There is something nice about a written note as opposed to a typed email. Download the printable below and add a handwritten note of thanks.

Wrap it up! The Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe speak for themselves, so you don’t really need to wrap them. But I chose to put them in a simple white gift box, tied with jute and the note tucked on top. I also added a cluster of my acorn ornaments for a little fun on the top of the box. See the tutorial on how to make them.

In just a few short weeks, my niece is coming home from an internship in Wisconsin. We are so excited and cannot wait for her return!
For the longest time, I had been wanting to send her a care package. I loved the yellow sunshine package all over Pinterest. But because we are blue when she is away from us, I came up with this Blue Without You Care Package.
I went to the Dollar Tree and picked a fun assortment of blue items. I used a plastic table cloth to wrap it all up, cut the sign with my (aff-link) cutting machine and headed off to the Post Office.
Here is what I included in our Blue Without You Care Package:
- Fiddle Faddle
- Ice Breakers
- Sweetarts Chews
- Blue Window Marker
- Bath Sponge
- Blue Hairbands
- Hard Plastic Cup with Straw
- Mike & Ike’s
- Pedicure Set
- Blue Necklace Beads (she works with kids)
- Composition Notebook
- Eclipse Gum
- Blue Mini Notepad
- Jolly Rachers
- Blue Plastic Cups
- Blue Glow In The Dark Bracelet Charm Set
- Shredded Blue Filler for baskets
Do you have a college student, intern or friend who you could send this package too?
Oh friends! I’ve been so excited to share this gorgeous and unique anniversary gift idea for a special couple. From Uncommon Goods, comes this Reclaimed Wine Barrel Serving Tray. And let me tell you: it is simply stunning!
But first a word about the company it came from because I think you’ll appreciate their values. Uncommon Goods is a retailer that features unique designs and handcrafted gifts created in harmony with the environment and without harm to animals or people. The Brooklyn-based business supports artists and designers and half of what they sell is made by hand. The company values the creative individual and believes they have a responsibility to impact the world in a positive way.
Click here to check out their large collection of unique anniversary gifts . . . and you know how I like a fun, meaningful and unique gift!
I set the reclaimed wine barrel serving tray up as an anniversary gift, ready to treat the couple with breakfast in bed. Whether you have been married one or twenty years, you have to be deliberate about keeping the romance alive. Breakfast in bed with this goodie-filled tray would make a creative and fun gift.
The serving tray is made from upcycled staves of retired oak wine barrels, which makes the colors rich and warm. Each tray is handmade and unique. When I received it, I was quite surprised to find out how heavy it was and very impressed with the quality. While some may think it pricey, I think it would make a lovely wedding or anniversary gift for a special couple.
And . . . did you know that it is traditional to give a wooden gift at the fifth anniversary? A’hem, Dan…a little late.
And beyond breakfast in bed, there are so many other uses for the serving tray. It would look fantastic on a coffee table with a few books and a vase or on the dining table as a centerpiece filled with seasonal decor. The tray could also become a more permanent home to a wedding photo and favorite memorabilia from the day, creatively displayed on a library table or dresser.
But I couldn’t stop there. Here are some other ways to use this tray:
For entertaining, use the tray at the beginning of your buffet line to hold the plates and silverware. Showcase the tray as you carry all your drinks out to the patio to serve your guests. For tablescapes, elevate the tray and fill it with party-themed decor. So many uses! I just love it.
Be sure not to miss Uncommon Good’s collection of personalized wedding gifts here.
Would you like to receive this tray as a gift? Do you have an anniversary or wedding gift to buy?
Disclosure: I received this tray in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Each spring, we all anticipate what the new Mother’s Day activity will be, sent out from my cousin, Cherise. Now in its fifth year, this tradition has been such a fun way to encourage each other in our role as mothers. The first year it was Mother’s Day Compliments, followed by the Secret Mom Meaningful Flower & Candy and plates with Bible verses.
Last year was encouragement based on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Along with a list of participating moms, we were each instructed to identify a fruit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control) that each mom excelled in. We could explain if we’d like or just list the fruit by the mom’s name. Cherise organized all the information and created these fun key chains.
Each bead represented one of the fruits to let us know what other moms saw in us. A letter accompanied sharing the meaning and any comments people wrote. This Fruit of the Spirit Encouragement was such a fun way to encourage and inspire each other to grow in our faith together and in our role as mothers.
Is there a circle of moms at church or a group of friends that you could do this activity with? Can’t we all use a little encouragement from one another?

Do you know a mom who has been running non-stop? Maybe she is dealing with circumstances that are beyond the usual busyness of everyday life. Is there a new baby who won’t sleep, extended family challenges or health issues that are wearing on her? Let’s talk today about being a blessing to the exhausted mom.
We’ve all been there. The feelings of being pushed to our limits or so overwhelmed with things that we think we may lose it…or if nothing else, simply break down and cry. Many times there are situations that are beyond our control. And those are the things that seem to test us the most. Imagine yourself in this position and then imagine a sweet friend stopping by with a special basket of goodies put together just for you. Wouldn’t that lift your spirit?
Last week, I went to Wal-Mart and picked up some items to give to a precious mom I know who has a lot on her plate and it seems the hits just keep coming. I wanted things that would provide this mom with some relaxation and a little pampering. Have you ever hopped in the shower and opened a new bottle of body wash and found it to be such a treat? I love opening a new bottle, smelling the scent and feeling how luxurious a thick lather is on my skin.
Softsoap has new Fresh & Glow body washes that sound amazing. I picked up their new hydrating shower cream with Milk Protein Almond & Coconut Extracts, ready to soothe a mom’s dry, winter skin. And the exfoliating fruit polish with Apricot Seeds, Orange & Kiwi Extracts (all 100% real) will exfoliate and give her a healthy-skin glow.
What I included in my Softsoap Gift Basket: Along with the body washes, I added a thick towel, a big bath sponge, a vanilla candle and Peaceful Piano cd. I loved the color of this basket as well!
A thoughtful gift basket of pampering doesn’t just give a mom a break from everyday busyness, it reminds her that she is cared about and loved. And incidentally if you are the exhausted mom, let me send you a virtual hug and a reminder that you are loved. Maybe you need to relax with a special new body wash, too.
What would you include in a gift basket to pamper a fellow mom?

If you have a child who can braid and use a needle and thread, they will have a blast making this braided coaster. And it makes a great homemade gift for mom or dad. *wink, wink*
My 5 year old daughter and I spent an enjoyable afternoon making the braided coaster together. She helped tie the material and I took care of the sewing, braiding and hot gluing.
What You’ll Need:
- A long-sleeved shirt*
- 2 Safety Pins
- Needle & Thread
- Hot Glue Gun
*I used one of my husband’s old dress shirts. You can also use a pair of pants or even socks, although I suggest new. 😉
Find out how to make the braided coaster at Motherhood On A Dime, where I am excited to be guest-posting.
