Simple Way #6

Do you enjoy a compliment?  I think we all do now and again.

Let’s turn our focus to someone else today by paying a compliment to a complete stranger.  Compliment something they are wearing, their cute hairstyle, a beautiful smile or catch them in the act of something great.

Awhile ago, I was pleasantly surprised by the smile and cheerful demeanor of a deli employee at the grocery store.  She was just plain happy and I appreciated the “service with a smile.”  I continued going about my shopping when I decided to turn around.  I proceeded back to the deli to thank her and tell her what a pleasure it was to see someone smile and cheery at work.  I don’t know that I made her day, but I hope she appreciated the compliment.

So today for our intentional moment, we are taking the focus off ourselves and going to brighten someone else’s day.
